HEALTH WORK IN DIOCESE OF KASESE.
There is one hospital (Kilembe Mines Hospital) under the administration of the diocese that offered service to 6,935 people of whom 4,024 were female in the year as above served 351664 people of whom 192,895 were female.
As a chairperson of health of health commission in Uganda, bishop egidio has identified the need for the health services in the diocese hence recognizing the health department as a commission of which he has appointed a fully inducted and active diocesan health board. A diocesan health coordinator. The health facilities have trained health unit management committees.
This Commission is headed by Rev Fr. Businge Richard Suasi. Kasese Diocese has other 3 clinics in parishes of Kasanga, Kyalhumba and Kitabu. However these health units are still offering little services to members due to inaquate health materials for use.
The health facilities are accredited by the Uganda catholic medical bureau to the ministry of health and allocations of essential drugs programme received.
